Introduction
We are seeking two motivated and detail-oriented Configuration Controllers to join our team. We have a permanent position and a fixed-term contract position available, both playing a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and traceability of product configuration information throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidates will maintain configuration records, support engineering change processes and ensure compliance with organisational procedures, customer requirements and applicable industry standards.
Job description

Configuration Control
  • Manage the identification, registration and control of configuration items, part numbers and engineering documentation
  • Ensure configuration information is accurately maintained within ERP and document management systems
  • Maintain complete traceability of configuration data throughout the product lifecycle
 
Engineering Change Management 
  • Support the Engineering Change process by coordinating, reviewing and processing Change Requests (CRs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and related documentation
  • Participate in Configuration Review Board (CRB) activities
  • Update product structures, Bills of Materials and configuration baselines following approved engineering changes
 
Baseline and Configuration Data Management
  • Establish and maintain approved product baselines
  • Manage deviations, concessions and configuration status accounting
  • Perform configuration verification activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Maintain controlled configuration documentation within ERP, PLM, SharePoint and other document management systems
 
Quality, Compliance and Audit Support
  • Ensure configuration records comply with organisational procedures, customer requirements and applicable standards
  • Provide configuration documentation and records for internal and external audits
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to Configuration Management processes
  • Maintain departmental records and filing systems
 
Stakeholder Support
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate configuration information
  • Provide support and guidance on configuration management processes and requirements
  • Contribute to a collaborative and quality-driven team environment

Minimum requirements

Matric (Grade 12)
Relevant Diploma in Engineering, Technical Administration or a related field
3–5 years' experience in Configuration Management, Document Control or a similar technical environment
Experience working with Engineering Change Management processes
Experience with ERP and/or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
